If you are the partner of sex addict then you have experienced a type of betrayal that is typically traumatic to the relationship. You now carry a deep wound that often needs special attention to effectively heal. If you are suffering through the wound of this type of relational trauma, then partaking in an intensive as part of your recovery just might be what you need to stop the pain and start your healing. If you have been in recovery for a period of time and feeling like you have lost momentum, then this intensive can help you get unstuck in recovery so that you can move forward again.
This two day intensive is designed to address the needs of the partner who has experienced a betrayal in their relationship. Upon discovery of an affair and/or addiction, partners often feel the weight of the world as they take on how to live with this deep pain. Partners often find themselves worried about how to take care of their families and even their significant other at the expense of themselves. This workshop is structured to focus on how to “get better no matter what!!” We will focus on increasing self care and getting more in tune with the thoughts, feelings and the way the body is experiencing pain and healing. Using a group therapy format, we will learn more about trauma, increase the skills of deep breathing, guided mediation, and relaxation. We will use art to process and express feelings and images and yoga to increase a connection between the head and the body.
