“What saves a man is to take a step. Then another step.” – C.S. Lewis
Clinical Focus: Individual Counseling | Couples Counseling | Drug & Alcohol Counseling | Sex Addiction Treatment | Trauma
It is easy to get depressed, anxious, and overwhelmed by the journey of life. When that journey is impacted by trauma, addiction, family problems, and conflict in relationships, it can be that much more difficult. Because of that, it becomes easy to stumble, fall, and give up on getting to the destination of living a happy life.
With training in EMDR, I have had significant experience working with people with varying levels of trauma and addiction utilizing techniques that are evidence-based for treating people with these needs. These techniques help to reorganize thoughts, emotions, and sensations in the brain to help a person to experience these issues differently.
I have been trained in sexual addiction therapy techniques through the International Institute for Trauma and Addiction Professionals (IITAP), and I have significant experience working with individuals who have been impacted by these issues as well. This provides steps to help manage issues that are otherwise complex and overwhelming.
I believe that people do the best that they can with what they have, and problems come from needing help with managing various issues in life that are encountered. Having someone who can help to determine what the next right step is can be a priceless commodity in moving towards the destination. This is true for individuals, families, spouses and those in other romantic relationships, and others. I want to help people to find that next right step. Then another.
