SUMMARY:Rebuilding Trust After Infidelity: How to Conduct an Effective Therapeutic Disclosure
DESCRIPTION:What: Therapeutic Disclosure Workshop \nThis comprehensive workshop is designed to provide licensed mental health practitioners with the knowledge and skills necessary to navigate the complexities of therapeutic disclosures. Participants will gain a better understanding of the purpose and benefits of therapeutic disclosures\, the challenges associated with staggered disclosure\, effective strategies for conducting therapeutic disclosures\, and the controversial role of polygraphs in this process. Through a combination of lectures\, case studies\, and interactive exercises\, this workshop aims to enhance practitioners’ ability to facilitate healing and trust in their clients. \nObjectives: \n\nParticipants will gain a better understanding of the foundational principles and therapeutic goals behind disclosures as part of betrayal trauma treatment and couple recovery.\nParticipants will discuss the impact of staggered disclosure on the therapeutic process and client-therapist relationship\, as well as\, developing strategies to manage and mitigate the challenges posed by staggered disclosures.\nParticipants will learn the steps and techniques for facilitating a successful therapeutic disclosure\, including preparation\, timing\, and follow-up.\nParticipants will examine the use of polygraphs in the context of therapeutic disclosures and the controversies surrounding their use.\n\nContinuing Education Units (CEU): This workshop provides 3 CEU credits. \nPresenters: Carrie Kyger\, LMFT\, CSAT and Joshua Nichols\, LMFT\, CSAT. \nWhen: Friday\, November 7th from 9-Noon \nWhere: Payne Education Center\n10404 Vineyard Blvd.\, Suite A\, Oklahoma City\, OK 73120 – Click For Directions\nPayne Education Center is located in the same office park as Family Solutions Counseling.
