What: Elevating Your Supervision Practice: An LMFT Supervisor Workshop
This workshop is designed to equip both new and experienced Licensed Marriage and Family Therapy (LMFT) supervisors with the knowledge, skills, and ethical framework necessary to excel in their crucial role of guiding the next generation of MFTs.
Drawing on the standards and guidelines set forth by the AAMFT, this workshop will delve into best practices in clinical supervision, emphasizing the unique challenges and opportunities within the marriage and family therapy field. Participants will engage in a combination of didactic presentations, interactive discussions, and experiential activities to deepen their understanding of supervisory roles and responsibilities, explore various models of supervision, and address current ethical and legal considerations.
Learning Objectives: Upon completion of this workshop, participants will be able to…
- Define and articulate the roles and responsibilities of an LMFT supervisor in accordance with professional and ethical standards.
- Evaluate and compare different theoretical frameworks and models of clinical supervision, such OC MFT’s supervision star and Self of the Therapist, and apply them effectively to various supervisory relationships.
- Develop a strong supervisory relationship characterized by trust, open communication, and the promotion of the supervisee’s professional growth and development.
- Implement effective supervision methods and techniques, including the provision of constructive feedback, evaluation strategies, and addressing supervisee performance concerns.
This workshop is designed to empower LMFT supervisors to build a strong foundation for their supervisory practice and effectively guide aspiring MFTs toward becoming competent, ethical, and culturally sensitive clinicians.
Continue Education Units (CEU): This workshop provides 3 Supervisor Ethics CEUs for LMFT Supervisors.

Payne Education Center is located in the same office park as Family Solutions Counseling. Vineyard Blvd runs south off Hefner Road, between Penn and May. On the west side of Vineyard, you’ll see the Village Post Office; on the east side is the office park where the venue is located.
