Rebuilding Trust After Infidelity: The Transitional Process of Broken Trust Following a Betrayal Trauma
April 14, 2023 @ 9:00 am - 12:00 pm
Following the discovery of infidelity, the trust of the couple relationship is deeply severed. In a moment’s time, the world of the couple suddenly shifts from one of safety and order, to one of danger and chaos. Uncertainty is now the name of the game. Chaos rules in this space; and distrust becomes a key player and ally in the couple’s story. Will they make it? No one truly knows, but with the right tools and proper guidance, the couple has a real chance of not only finding their way out of this darkness, but finding their way out together.
Objectives:
- Participants will learn about the liminal state of existence as it relates to betrayal trauma.
- Participants will be introduced to the concept of transitional distrust and its unique components. They will also learn about its functionality in the injured couples system and its importance for healing and transition.
